ACCELERATE HEALING & REDUCE POST-OPERATION INFLAMMATION WITH BIOPTRON

Dr. Bogdan Dimitrie Niculae, President of the Romanian Anti-Aging Association.

WE have successfully used BIOPTRON Light Therapy in our dermatologic clinic for a number of years now. We use the medical light therapy device in adults and children as a complementary therapy to reduce pain and promote healing in various types of conditions, such as: Skin disorders, pre and post therapy and to promote wound healing.

We use the device as mono-therapy and/or as complementary therapy for recovery after various dermatological and aesthetical treatments because BIOPTRON is proven to:

  • Improve microcirculation;
  • Harmonize metabolic processes;
  • Reinforce the human defence system;
  • Stimulate regenerative and reparative processes of the entire organism;
  • Promote wound healing;
  • Relieve pain or decrease its intensity;
  • Reduce inflammation.

We use the light therapy in all our anti-aging therapies, before and after mesotherapy procedures, after lipolysis procedures and also after surgical dermatologic procedures to promote healing and reduce post-operation inflammation. The risk of hyperpigmentary inflammation is reduced, if we use light therapy post treatment, with a percentage of 40% in darker skin patients.

The polarized light is also used in our clinic as complementary therapy in hair treatments and post hair transplantation. On a cellular level, inflammation may result in increased local blood flow and release of inflammatory factors that promote follicular vascularization. In normal skin tissue, the anagen phase is accompanied by follicular angiogenesis and upregulation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in outer root sheath keratinocytes.

This vasculature rapidly regresses during catagen phase. Thus, enhanced vasculature induced by inflammation may promote the development of healthy follicles. Additionally, the heat shock associated with low levels of thermal energy may upregulate heat shock proteins such as HSP-27, which have a role in follicular stem cell growth and differentiation.

The wound healing associated with thermal injury may also contribute to hair growth. It has been successfully demonstrated that in wounds of genetically normal adult mice, de novo hair follicles form from epidermal stem cells outside the follicle. Other mediators of wound healing linked to hair growth include polypeptide thymosin beta-4 and cyclopentyladenosine. Due to the BIOPTRON light therapy success in our clinic we also recommend to our patients to continue at home the treatment daily for a period of minimum three months post hair transplantation.
